Implementation of energy management systems (EMS)
In recent years, we have been witnessing a massive expansion of photovoltaic (PV) power plants – both in North Macedonia and globally. This accelerated growth brings enormous benefits in terms of decarbonization, but at the same time creates serious pressure on the power grid. There is an increasing focus (including from a regulatory perspective) on the fact that battery energy storage systems and energy management devices will become a practically mandatory part of future PV projects, ensuring grid stability, peak load control and better integration of renewable energy sources.
The Solar Spektar AG team is already actively preparing for this “new normal”. In addition to designing and constructing photovoltaic plants, we have started with the systematic implementation of Energy Management Systems (EMS) in industrial facilities and hybrid PV systems with batteries. Our goal is for clients to receive not just a PV plant, but an intelligent energy system that is ready for future regulations.
One of the key devices we are already implementing is the Reduxi controller. Its integration in photovoltaic plants enables:
- increasing the self-consumption of the produced energy
- zero-export or limiting the export to the grid, in line with the requirements of the grid operator
- intelligent management of multiple sources and loads (PV plant, battery system, diesel generator, EV chargers, industrial loads, etc.)
- real-time monitoring and detailed analytics of production and consumption
- defining smart priorities and scenarios (first supplying loads, then the grid, charging/discharging the batteries, starting the generator only when necessary).
In the recent period, we have successfully implemented Reduxi controllers in several facilities, where:
- peak power demand and electricity costs are reduced
- system stability and predictability are improved
- investors gain greater transparency and control over their energy profile
For us, Reduxi is not just “another device in the cabinet” – it is the energy brain of the system, enabling maximum utilization of the PV plant, batteries and other equipment, in line with current and future regulatory requirements.
If you are considering optimizing your PV plant, integrating a battery system, EV chargers or a diesel generator – implementing a Reduxi controller is a logical step towards greater energy independence, regulatory compliance and lower operating costs.
